I have an opportunity to buy this cooker (the mobile cooker) used:
https://www.thegolfcarguy.com/cookrite-smokers.html

I have never heard of Cook rite, but what would the group think it’s worth? I’m a little concerned about most of the cooker being 1/8 inch steel. Is that a big deal? It hasn’t been used in at least a year, and has a lot of surface rust I’ll have to deal with.

Any thoughts by those of you who know better than I?

Thanks!!

There are obviously better cookers out there. The 1/8" steel is going to rust out faster. but the biggest problem, it is going to be a pain to maintain temps in cold, wind or rain.
The question is should you buy it, depends on the price?

He was asking $1000, got him down to $500. Apparently retails for $2900. It would be my first stickburner.

The trailer alone would probably cost you more than $500 new.

Since it hasn’t been used in a year another question I would have is the trailer road worthy or are you gonna have to dump money there also. $500 is not a bad price if you don’t have to end up rebuilding the whole thing.
