I'm not a huge fan of hotdogs but saw these and decided to give em a try.
I went the corn dog route.

Hotdogs are like Allsup burritos to me. I don't eat them often, maybe 3 times a year and I'm good. I prefer charred hotdogs or corndogs.
These were ok. The texture was a bit chewy but the flavor was fine.
I won't be buying them again though. lol

Thanks for looking!

I'm with you Jeanie can't have a corn dog without yellow mustard. I wonder how much brisket is actually in the hot dogs. BTW your corn dogs look delicious.

I'm with you. For some reason once or twice a year my stomach says it wants chili dogs or corn dogs. Once I start eating, my taste buds say what were you thinking. If your going to eat them homeade is the way to go. Yours look great.

Thank you Marty! Sometimes simple is best. :-D

Thanks Bill! I love yellow mustard on a corn dog. I didn't check out the package very closely. Just saw the word "brisket" and decided to give them a try.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one, Josh! lol I crave them sometimes too, but take a couple of bites and I'm good for months. Thanks so much! :-D

Clearly the brisket required you to take them to 203 and probe tender....thus why they were chewy.

Send the rest over here. I will take them off your hands....and send the yellow mustard too!

I like a good hotdog, and ocasionally I'll go for a corndog. I'm sure yours were fantastic, Jeanie!

Is that batter corndog-specific or do you use it for other things? And as I'm typing this I'm starting to think "what about using hush puppy batter?" or maybe a fancy farkin corndog that's some kinda nice sausage with hushpuppy batter as the batter part.
Who knows - could be good but then again...:noidea:

When I saw your title, I was thinking what has Jeanie whipped up now, got to love marketing. Corn dogs look good Jeanie, can't remember the last time I had one though, I'd be good for a couple.

Good to see you post, hope you've been out camping or busy doing something else you love todo.

Thank you Lloyd! I would have shared these with you. :thumb:

Thanks Greg! I think of the huge hotdog cook you do every Mother's Day. That is so amazing!! I'm sure they are delicious!
This batter was just corn dog batter. Hushpuppy batter with good sausages would be great! Hope you give it a try and keep me posted!
Thanks Greg! :becky:

Kevin, you're so right! It was the marketing that made me purchase these. I don't make hotdogs often and thought the brisket meat might actually be tasty. I won't be purchasing them again, I just didn't care for the texture.
Maybe I'm too picky. lol
Thank you! I've been cooking quite a bit but just haven't posted much lately.
I do miss seeing what all you're cooking up! Hope you're having a great week!

I rarely eat hot dogs or corn dogs, but I admit, they occasionally hit spot. And I'm same, yellow mustard

Nothing here in the urban jungle. Beautiful cloud formation. Just wind here.
Thinking Der Winerschnitzel post golf today. :/)

Watch them rattlers. People finding them down here where they’ve never been seen. Guess it was a great Hatch (pun intended)

The quality/ texture of the dogs may have been sub par but the preparation and presentation of the final product was ......."SPOT ON"!!! :thumb:
