Couldn't believe my good fortune when I saw this Weber sitting on the curb next to a garbage can today. A little dirty (used) as you can see, but in very good shape. Took the pressure to it and it clean up nicely.
Only thing it needs is the deflectors below the racks.

Looks like a newer and cleaner version of the one that I listed "free to a good home" in CL a few weeks back. Got a taker the same day.

Nice find. Those older model Webers are tanks. I've had mine since around 2002 when it came out. I've replaced the burner and the deflectors once (just a couple of years ago).

The igniter needs to be replaced also, but a lighter will work for now. I have some chicken I'm gonna throw on it this weekend.
Anyone know what year this model is?

You may find a sticker under the right side table to decode the year.
Otherwise, you can call Weber and try and nail it down. I'm guessing early 90's
Genesis Silver B? (no lower doors, therm in the lid.)
Nice find.

Nice score, my guess is a late 90's genesis

Very nice. I have one of those that I got off of CL several years ago. They are nice little grills.

My guess is late 90's early 00's. Model number as said earlier should be under the table on the right to get you a year model. For replacement falvorizer bars, look up RCplanebuyer on eBay. I have ordered bars and grates from him and his much heavier gauge than any others being offered. priced a little higher, but you get what you pay for.

Happy cooking.

I bought that same grill in 1996. Was my first grill at my first house. Used it a ton for 10 years until I discovered the WSM.

It's a Genny Silver A from between 2002 - 2003. "Silver" denotes the enameled lid versus "Gold" which has a SS lid. "A" denotes a 2 burner. "B" is a 3 burner. "C" is a three burner with a side burner. Genny Silver's were made from 2000 - 2006. From 2000 - 2001, there was a cross bar running side to side in the middle of the bottom rack. In 2004, the thermometer was moved to the middle of the lid. So, that would put your's at 2002 or 2003.

To find the label, pull the knobs and undo the 2 screws on the right shelf end cap that hold down the control panel. Pull it up and you should find the label. If my dating is correct, and if the SN is legible, it should start with either DU (2002) or DT (2003).

Thanks for the info on dating them. I have the identical twin, knew it was a Silver A but never determined year of manufacture.

OK, not quite identical. Mine had some crappy aftermarket wire racks. I had some cast iron grates that fit well enough and lucked into a cheap set of SS drip bars. It looks like this one has CI grates which are very nice too.

Great find!
