Gotta make room in the freezer. Krogers have choice brisket for $1.67/lb and Market Street has them for $1.77.

I'm already on the lookout for a tiny one for the pellet pooper, LOL.

Wow that's a great pricing!

I like to trim a bit on briskets and grind for burgers... good stuff!

Don't let Czarbecue see this. He'll be headed back that way in no time.

I had an interesting story about the $1.67 Kroger choice briskets. I stopped at the little Kroger by home (where I know the butcher) early this morning looking for small packers. I have plenty of mid to large briskets in deep freeze but am always on the lookout for something I can fit in the pellet pooper. The smallest in the display was over 13 lbs, so I asked if he had any small ones. He said he would open a new box and see what was in it. He came back with two cryo wrapped "whole" briskets with no plug and essentially a 1/4" comp trimmed fat cap. They were basically separated flats that got included in the packer box and priced the same. 6.04 lbs and 5.33 lbs.

Got my two today. I actually was in there last week and they were $1.99lb and so I got one then too, so now I have three that are aging in the fridge. I might pick up two more since we entertain a lot over the summer. Heck of a deal.

I hope you got a good one! My wife was emabarrased. I got to the briskets before two guys did. I respectfully said if you see one you want grab one. But I did the entire touch every single one put it to the side in two different piles figuring out which was better than the other.
