I have had mine a year now and love it. I have made some great food with it. I bought it with the sear box in mind, but I have never used it. Never felt the need. I do steaks in my cast iron pan, so have not done steaks on it yet. It gets hot enough to sizzle burgers, so again, really have not had the need. Also holds temps very well. Usually when I look at the temp it is usually with in 1 degree or spot on, but does have 20 degree shift time to time. Also recovers well after the lid opens. Any questions feel free to ask me.
