Buddy of mine was able to get his hands on an old meat slicer from a deli counter of a now closed down grocery store. He didn't have any need for it so gave it to me. I got her all cleaned up and oiled and found this handy cart for it with wheels. It is a Bizerba SE 12 slicer, which should be perfect for my next bacon smoke. No more slicing by hand!

Nice score! I was looking at slicers, but I just don't think I'd use it enough to justify the cost (and the footprint).
Slicing bacon by hand does suck though!

Nice score! Looks a lot like my Berkel only a bit bigger.

I service commercial food equipment, and those SE12s are everywhere. Good slicers.

How I felt too, but I couldn't pass up free and the cart makes it easy to store it in my utility room when I'm not using it. It is massive and takes up a lot of space for sure.

Mine can be clean and sanitized in about 5 minutes.

Yep, 5 or 10 minutes. It's real easy on most of them. Trick is, you don't carry it or the parts over to a sink. When you've finished using it, disassemble and wipe down with a warm, damp and soapy cloth. Then wipe thoroughly with a clean and dry cloth. Reassemble and you are finished.

Wow...that's an amazing deal! My wife would freak due to the footprint issue, but I really want one.
