I have a little problem, I have a WSM with cover that I bought last year and used it only once for Guitarbeque while we were waiting for The Fat Boy to be delivered. We placed 5th chicken, 7th ribs, 5th pork on that WSM.

Thats it up in the left top corner. Well now that we are a Backwoods team, I am considering selling it. Do you think it should go on Craigslist?
I was thinking $200, paid $250. Ideas?
Thanks Ray

I dont use my WSM as much anymore either but I am going to keep it just for the fark of it. Thats the pack rat in me. $200 for a used bullet is a little steep sounding to me though. JMHO.
Good luck.

Well, if you want to sell it, go ahead. If you want to keep it, go ahead. If you think you'd never really use it again and it's just taking up space, no since in keeping it. If you can get $200 for it great. Just try to remember most people will research it on the web and, even though it was only used once, that's all they're going to see is "USED". No matter what condition it's in.

I'm looking high and low for the original 1880 model myself.

What do you guys thinks a fair price then?

Box it and ship to SoCal. I will give it a good home. On a regular basis, I will see to it, that it gets to go out and play with my WSM and they will both be allowed to smoke many good meats for the rest of thier days.

I agree with the overall sentiment here. If I saw a used WSM, I would check for the lowest price I can find and get it there.

But you can ship it to me if you really want to....

I'd suggest research it a bit online at places like Craigs LIst and Ebay and see what you can find in the manor of used ones and price according.

You can list it at $200 and see what happens. If that doesn't fly try $175. Figure out what it's worth to you and price accordingly. Value is what somebody is willing to pay. Worth is the value it has for you8-)

I agree. All depends on right person, right time. $200 is a bit steep IMHO..but you never know. Go for it and see what happens.

I think you should list in on eBay for about $100 then email me the link! ;-)

My son bought one BRAND NEW (and yes they do come with the cover) for my birthday in March for 204 bucks and that included shipping. that was right thru the VB amazon site. I'd think 125-150 would be fair. Lets face it, mine came with a warranty.

Yep your right they do come with the cover, but how many still have it? Hmmmm..... just playin. And the way Weber is with there customer service I'm sure someone with a silver tounge could get what ever they needed for warranty work. Besides what's going to go wrong with a WSM with all the moving parts and all.
Anyway I think I will put in on Craigslist for $150 and go from there.

Ray,
I would hang on to it. I am startled how much we still end up using ours. Plus I posted a brand new in the box one for $200 last summer/fall and got nothing but people trying to hit me for a bargain so I think pricing could be an issue. Just my $.02 of course...

Ray, I got mine in November off CL for $160, the only thing missing was the box, It was used once and the people felt it was too much of a hassle to use and bought a gasser. It was an Amazon purchase and came with a Premium cover, rib rack and Eastmann leather welder type gloves. I had been keeping my eyes out for one for quite a while and the ones I'd seen had gone quick. I came across this one in the Household section by accident and was about 4 days old, I never suspected I'd get a reply and the people said they had not had any response (go figure) they were asking $180 and it was as clean as new, the bottom grate had not even been used. I don't really check Amazon, but at the time I bought mine they were $199 and free shipping, I saw one at a dealer in my area for $249+ tax. Ask for $200 and see were the market is, but its that time of year!

$200 is a littel steep, considering that every few months they can be had new for under $200 deliverd, from places like Amazon of Buy.com. I got mine new for $160.

Why bother with craiglist though. Why not just take it to the next comp. and put a for sale sign on it? Do you really want people that you don't know calling you in the middle of the night?

I like this idea. When the spectators see others using them and then see yours for sale, someone is bound to snatch it up.

I gotta ask, not only Tim, but the Anchorman:

Why the fark would you want to sell this?

Keep the farking thing. It definitely has a place in my set of tools

Bigmista

I'd keep it for smaller longer cooks. Besides I see teams all of the time that have these big honkin smokers at comps but still have a WSM on the side doing the dirty work.

I just can't imagine getting rid of any of my cookers. I did offer to trade my 22" kettle to a frriend of mine for his hasty-bake, but that's the only way I'd let one go. WSMs don't take up much space, so I'd hang on to it just int case.

Actually you asked for offers, not 200 bucks. You got one close to that though.

Understood Tim

I'm pretty out of touch.

I didnt know you even were considering a FEC.

Good luck with that.

I use the WSM maybe 6 times a year, and the Bandera 2wice a year, so I have no room to talk.

I find offsetting on the Kettle, at 280ish, much more workable into my schedule

That might be the way to go, I never thought of that. But thats the same way I bought my Backwoods Party, at Harpoon, VT, last summer.
