Man, up in the high lonesome.... pork loins are $1.98, and butts are $1.77 so I'll be doing some pulled pork for Superbowl, and some Buckboard loin bacon next weekend. Now if only beef prices would follow suit.

Great price, and that butt roast is very nicely trimmed.

Looks like you are off to a great start with the Buckboard Bacon, looks great.

I noticed the prices were dropping, one of our local stores had whole bone-in pork loins on sale. Had them cut into chops, roasts, and pork steaks. There is also canadian bacon in my near future.

That butt was like a brick. All I really did was cut off a few small tags of meat, and a fat layer just above the money muscle, and it was ready to go. The fat on the other side was about 1/8" max... I'm thinking of cross-scoring it as I'm going to hang the butt in my drum.

I've noticed lower prices on loins especially. $1.39 at one grocer.

I've noticed the drop too. The 10lb loin I buckboarded and smoked last weekend was $14 at Gordons.
