Exciting weekend ahead. Perusing Planet Barbecue by Steven Raichlen, have Longmire Season 5 to binge watch.

Earlier this morning I took yesterday’s smoked hambone, about a half cup of ham jam some bean spice and a couple cups of Anasazi beans and loaded the Crockpot. Should be some good drive by eating thru the weekend.

Makes me wish I liked ham so I'd have a ham bone to do this. Somehow other smoked meats like hocks don't have the same result.
Curious about what you think of the ending of Longmire. There was much debate in our household.

:becky: is always trying to throw the ham bone away.

Its a constant struggle on par with the battle over the leg lamp from Christmas Story

Leftover ham jam. Will make good gravy, smoke flavor to soup stews chili -Q Sauce etc.

Maybe a skin softener:-)

Had some venison German sausage. Fired up the SOB. Sausage Sliced, beans ladled and topped. Episode #1 begins.

I enjoyed it, felt like they shoehorned it to a conclusion but they knew it was the last season. Netflix did good with the show once they got it from AMC.
