So The Bride wanted Cabbage Stew-I wanted Texas Red or at Least Oklahoma red chili with beans. I googled and found a recipe for Cabbage Patch Chili. I used what I had on hand ready to go. Purple cabbage purple onion and garlic 1 pound venison 1 pound chopped brisket chili spices from Williams chili mixAnd low-sodium V-8 and water. Now simmering.

My wife won't make chili without Williams chili mix, but then she's a Texas girl. . . .

It was good. I added red chile sauce to mine, Bride hit hers with Cavenders and Cholula Green. A couple XXHot Roasted green chile would’ve done it. Added garlic was a hit.

I made a similar cabbage stew last night. Small head of cabbage, 2lb of hamburger, 1 medium onion, 2tsp salt, 1tsp pepper, 2 cloves of garlic, 2 14.5 ounce cans of diced tomatoes, and 8oz of tomato sauce. Cook hamburger and onion. Add everything else and simmer for 30 minutes. It was yummy.

Sounds good, definitely will need to try this one, may add some beans for higher octane.
