how far do you go when you clean your pit??

for me, I've only got the 18.5" WSM for now, however, I rarely ever clean it aside from scraping the grates and doing a dump of the ash in the garbage can. I think in like 10yrs I've done like 1-2 full scrubs/pressure wash of the grates and water pan.

what would you do to your offset? pull the grates and pressure wash after each cook?? steam the chamber? scrape the bottom? etc what's your cleaning method?

I just clean the grates and dump/scoop the ash on regular basis. Once the inside starts getting the black flaky stuff I’ll hit it with a water hose then spray with veg oil.

I open the door and let the dogs have at it.
