Nice work! The video is a good demonstration of why a quality cooker is so expensive. Lots of labor.

Thanks guys.. Yeah I needed that help, my back is totally screwed been that way for 11 years so this was done a bit here and a bit there.. Finally bit the bullet and did the build so I can at least try to still make a living doing something I love with the help of some friends and fam!! I'm proud of the way it turned out since I have never work with heavy steel and tools were limited..

Very sweet pit.

Great teamwork on this build.

Super soundtrack, too. One of my favorite EC tunes.

Very good looking piece of equipment and way to see it through until the end. I do have a question though as I have never seen a firebox where the door opens to the front... it's always on the side. Any reason you chose the front and has it helped or hindered the cooker in any way?

It was just the most convenient spot at the time. It put my vent straight in line with my intake under my reverse flow plate, I figured that would help it pull a draft quick. Of which it does in a matter of minutes from being fired.

Yeah I had fun building it next year when weather warms up I'm going to put a wood box and a charcoal or wood grill on it and maybe a couple propane burners for pots.. For now I'm just going to cook on her till then. Although I need to put good temp gauges on her cause that cheap one I put on seemed to be like 100 degrees out.. Have to find decent ones that won't break the bank.

Very nice build. Congrats on such a great looking smoker. Now, all we need here to wrap things up is the first cook thread, then we can call her done.

Yes sir, I stand corrected. I had to cut the video short in order to get my daughter to school, but I finished it and it all turned out great:thumb:

Any recommendations on gauges that are good but won't break the bank?? The one I put on is about 75-100 degrees off..

Found that out the hard way.

Never had a gauge thermometer that was accurate, I would recommend putting in a probe port, and getting a good digital thermometer.
