This is my first attempt at a smoked chuck. Seasoned with steak seasoning right before it went on the heat. 6.5 hours later I wrapped and put in a cooler for 2.5 hours. Turned out pretty good I think.

Looks fine to me. Is that pineapple next to some delicious brussel sprouts and potatoes?

Yes it is. My son asked if we could get 2 this week.

Did you pull at a temp or when tender?

I've never smoked a chuck roast. After looking at your pics, I have no choice but to try it! Nice cook!

Inspired by several threads here, I did my first chuckie a coupla weeks ago. It tasted great (rubbed it with Black Ops), but mine wasn't NEARLY as photogenic as 10miler's.

Highly recommend it!

Did you pull at a temp or when tender?

I used my cheapo instant read thermometer to check temps till it got close, but then went purely by feel. Some parts were tender, and other parts not. So I had to rotate it some to put the not tender part closer than the heat. Then I think the hold time helped some too.

Great job on your inaugural chuckie. You look like an old pro.
