Just bought 10 bags at Lowes this weekend.

I was scouring ads and could not find stubbs cheap. I'll own that I caved into the sirens song of kbb. 23 cents a pound can't be beat even though it's twenty minutes of stink fumes. I'll just use it for startup and after I wrap to keep the fumes away. Please tell me if you catch a promo like Memorial Day

Only $10 per bag at Lowe's. Want to find out:

What type of wood is used in their briquettes?
What location does the wood come from?

What type of binders are used?

Any ideas?

Some answers..... from the web

Google/Amazon (https://www.google.com/search?q=stubb%27s+charcoal+ingredients&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8): is not only a healthier bar-b-q experience, it's a better fit for the environment. it's made of all natural resources, 95-percent hardwood charcoal and 5-percent vegetable binder.

Stubb's (http://www.cowboycharcoal.com/products/stubbs-natural-briquets/): Made with 100% natural, renewable resources, no other additives.

you will find that most other briquettes contain coal and chemical ingredients, as well as fillers like borax, sawdust, and limestone.

Stubbs is readily available at all of the Lowe's near me. The only time I've ever seen it on sale was in January of 2016 when Stubbs changed sizes of bags. I loaded up with it then and still have a few bags left.

Stubbs claims to have no fillers but they forgot to tell my ash pans. I get just as much ash from Stubbs as I do from KBB and Royal Oak briquettes in my cabinet and in my kettle. Ash is not a concern for me at all. I just have noted the amounts on several cooks.
