View Full Version : Multi meat cook today on the M1

So today I'm smoking two butts, a ham and a plate of chuck ribs. As you can see, I'm using the upper rack accessory for the ribs. If I cared to cook more, I could arrange things better on the main grate. Also could easily fit another chuck rib plate on accessory rack. Then there's the lower grate which can also be used. Would be super simple
To raise it a bit and put drip pans below it. For those who worry the M1 doesn't have enough space, I have yet to see someone utilize it all. Thing is just cruising at 250 where mine likes to settle. A small split every hour and she's golden, Pony Boy...https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170826/a7c23b9883321ac4fa9a1d4ea563182f.jpg

What a beautiful site to behold. I agree the M1 capacity is deceiving and likes to hover around 250-275 with minimal effort. Love it :thumb:

This so true since I was able to smash out three slabs, one brisket and two butts all on the same cook.

Final photo is chuck rib plate. Ham will come off first followed by the ribs then the butts.

I didn't take as many pics as I would've liked but I started the brisket on the charcoal rack, had the two pork butts on the main rack with one slab of ribs and the other two on the top rack. To be honest it does make it a bit difficult to get to into the charcoal rack to to tend to whatever meat you may have on but if you don't mine working at it then it's definitely doable.

If you go to their Instagram feed he has a picture of one...basically from what it looks to be a wider M1 but not as wide as the M48.

The pictures on the Mgrills Facebook page show the results of a brisket cook this past weekend; the comments indicate they're about ready to ship the M36; for those interested in that cooker, it seems like we are about ready to get access to it. I've been patiently waiting; I've seen that M1 in person, and it is probably enough of a machine for me with the extended rack, but the M36 should be even more of a beast.

Tremendous job with the M1 in this thread though. Tremendous.

Yeah I was surprised as to how much I could get on it and for probably 95% of most home cooks it should suffice just fine but you can never go wrong with more space.

Isn't there a side door that would grant access to the meat placed on the charcoal rack?

No
The side door you're referring to is located on the lower left is the firebox door. 148520
