Been trying to determine if the lid on my gasser should be open or closed? Burners on high?

I'd close it to heat it real hot but after that I don't think it matters burner setting could vary I run about 80* but my gasser is rocket hot

Well, I guess that just depends on what your cooking. For searing I leave my lid open. Still getting use to mine though....

It all depends. 1 1/2 inch steaks or burgers get done on high heat with lid up. Thicker cuts like London boils get seared on high heat, then I turn the burners down and drop the top. Might even turn a burner off and move the meat over it to cook indirect. I do chicken the same way.
