Hi grillers... New to the forum, found it when trying to find some inspiration for my project.

Maybe this will help inspire someone else

after much looking at pictures on lots of nice builds i decided to just do something simple and sturdy.

Plywood 1.8cm thick
2x4 lumber pressure treated
total size 150cm x 75cm x 87cm (sorry about the non converted measurement  )

First day

frame built and 108mm castor wheels on
https://ibb.co/n7Ot3Q

Was looking around a lot at suspension and mounting solutions but decided just to use the legs for the wheels together with a kind of rafter ties, which is supporting most of the weight of the grill.

Second day

The handle is resting on the lumber and will be mounted with a pipe tie. Theres about 1 inch space between the kettle and the wood at the top.

Was only gonna have plywood on half of the bottom section but got a leftover piece that came in to use to separate the chimney from the rest of the storage space...

Final result

Simple build, sturdy and pretty slick.. I'm happy with it! Took me all together about 1,5 working day to finish, including getting material.. not sure about the cost but

Haven't had the premier yet, lets hope there won't be a bonfire of all of it...

Thanks everyone!

You should, I think it makes the grilling much more pleasant with some working space and also looks pretty sweet

I have a kind of a build plan if its of any help... made some changes along the way though, but overall built after this and the centimeter measurements.

The circle measures 19cm from the short side and 6cm on each long side.

Gonna try to build something on the side with the lid holder that was attached to the grill.. haven't decided how yet.. any suggestions is welcome! :thumb:

Nice work by the way. I used a simple hanger from Lowes for my lid and it works perfect.

I also recommend installing a hook somewhere to hang the cooking grate from.

thanks!

I knew i forgot something, gonna fix a hanger for the grate!

That hanger solution looks good! Would just like to have the lid vertical since i don't have so much space on the side

Feel free to post pics of your build here as well

I'm curious how the wood will hold up to cooking and weather. I have been thinking about making one out of square tubing and expanded metal myself.

Mine is maybe 1 1/2yrs old and built out of all treaded 2xs and 5/4 board. I never liked plywood whether it was treated or not. It is holding up perfectly fine. I did have to tighten all the screws due to shrinking but she is just as sturdy and good looking as day 1. I might paint in now that the moisture content is finally out from treating. Sits out in full sun, rain and snow.

So, went to get some hooks to hang the grate and the lid on

Maybe not the prettiest but simple solution that works good.

Both hangers can be used for hanging both items but normally theres not space to hang the lid on the left side when its parked in its place.

We will see if i keep on building on this thing, had a thought to make it bigger and include the gas grill as well to make it a complete grill station but we'll see about that
