I need to stop having people that know me on FB. Had a buddy (who is a brethren and I blame for this mess) tag me is one of Mr Brisket's posts about having some large Wagyu's. Since I like super huge briskets I couldn't resist :-D.

Did a 27 and 29lb choice previously :-D, but nothing this big in Wagyu. Wished they had something over 30 just to say I'd done one that big, though these will suffice. Saw a guy on FB one time with a 33lb'er .

Anyways here are the pics. One brisket I knew had a slight break in the cryo that I was fine with so it was wrapped up with extra plastic wrap. Both came still mostly frozen. I'd say 80% still froze.

Quick size comparison. The smaller one is one of the Wagyu's I got when in FL a few weeks back from The Butcher Shoppe. It is 13.5lbs, so dead on half their size.

No kitchen scales with a big enough range so did the old step on without/step on with. So each dead at 27lbs.

Here's one hilariously trying to fit into a pan

And here it is compared to my 11lb tiny human

We only have plans to cook 3 comps this year and with the one from the butcher shop, plus these 2 that should take care of it. Though I'm tempted to think about cooking one on my Shirley for fun :becky:. Cuz if not these would stay in the freezer until Oct and Nov

All I got from this thread is that you are one skinny farker. :heh: maybe you should start eating brisket.

I might. I admit I'm not sure I'd want to wait until the oct or nov event. Trimming down the way we do might get it closer to 22lbs

They were not. It's whatever they call their Imperial Wagyu. They marbling looks just as good as anything I've cooked.

good stuff! Imperial Wagyu comes from the sandhills of Nebraska. One could argue its the best region on earth to raise livestock.

Thats an adorable 11 lb human you have there! And I can't even imagine how much the briskets set you back. But if I had to guess I would say you spent close to $39 total!

Hank is a great guy to deal with!!! I believe it's imperial signature series. Not absolutely sure where that grades. He has great prices. His corn beef is the best I've ever had.

Used to live in Akron so been to Cleveland many times, but don't get back now very often. Next time I'm there I definitely want to stop by.

Am I the only one hoping for pictures of Jason and the briskets in matching man rompers? I think that would qualify as really stupid, just saying...

Man, I gotta weigh in here.... Holy Crap those are Huuuge Waygu's Jason. You might want to consider cooking the one one that the cryo wrap was compromised sooner in the SF. I know what SRF charges for product so you probably shelled out a chunk for those behemoths.

Ya even the broken cryo one still looks awesome and I put it in an expandable vacuum seal bag for a little extra help. I'd guess I'll cook one in Aug at an event.

The FB post Mr Brisket had up was that he had some huge wagyu's he was trying to move. He posted in there for this sale he'd do $7.49lb. Their normal prices are higher. Buying in bulk discounts as I'm guessing most of the time folks don't want this large since these are about the size of 2 briskets each .

Back about 8yrs ago I was actually around 207 believe it or not and didn't much care for that weight and got it down to as low as 157. So I've "bulked" back up some :caked:
