Hello,

I am going to order some Pink Butch Paper to use instead of Foil - anyone that has used - would you recommend the 18 or 24" width? I am going to order from Ceramic Grill Store as can get 250 or 500 feet much cheaper than the Oren brand that Franklin BBQ uses. Anyone used CGS offering vs the name brand used by Franklin?

Thanks,

Mark

24, the 18 is too narrow.

This is what I use https://www.webstaurantstore.com/24-x-700-40-peach-treated-butcher-paper-roll/43324PEA.html?utm_source=Google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=GoogleShopping&gclid=CND06KrzyNQCFdy6wAod4rYDvA

I used it for years. It's not impossible you just have to use 2 sheets on some briskets.

Just cancelled my Amazon order and got the 24.

I would be leery of using that since it says it's treated.

^^^What he said^^^

I got Big Swole and myself a roll apiece a few months ago. I don't know how much David has used his but I've used mine a lot and it is great.

I think it is treated with corn starch to keep it strong when it gets wet. The paper is FDA approved so it's good to go.

The "treatment" is food safe and all butcher/kraft papers have it under 24". 24" and above skip the treatment, even if the description says its "treated". It is just describing the 18" and below.

No question the 24" paper.

Much easier to wrap with.

Having ordered and used the 18 inch (it worked very well but had to use more of it because of the width) I would order the 24 inch.

24 is the way to go....one other tip that I've found very helpful. Cut your piece of paper to wrap your meat and then crumple it up into a ball and unwrap it s few times, makes the paper much more pliable and easy to work with.
