Looks delicious. The light breading style fish are the kind I can eat 20 of. Reminds me of an all you can eat fish n chip place we used have in Seattle called Skippers :hungry:

Difference being you actually have fish in yours :thumb:

Nice cook Sako!

One of my favorites too, I get out the cajun fryer over the 4th and invite a bunch of friends over for fish and chips.

One of my favorites also and well done! I try not to eat to much fried food these days but I do love it. In my younger days I would always get the fried captains platter and chow down.

It's a bit far for you but if ever in North OC, check out Dry Dock Fish Co in Fullerton. http://drydockfish.com

Best source for fresh fish in So Cal in my opinion. Better than Santa Monica seafood and better prices too. Very high quality.

Awesome cook. Malt vinegar, ketchup in a can, and the fish on newsprint.... Takes me back...

Thanks for the heads up on Dry Dock - I'll have to check it out. I used to live in Santa Monica till 2009. After that, Santa Monica seafood moved to their new home on Wilshire and their prices went through the roof! My regular go-to fish at SM seafood was the Tasmanian Ocean Trout - really great fish!

Thanks!! Lol, I think I had about that much last night. And absolutely agreed in having actual fish. When I get the craving at times, other thena making my own, the only place I go and get them from is a diner down the street from me. Nicely breaded and real cod.

Oh and any of you SoCal farkers that venture out to the Channel Islands/Oxnard there is a seafood market AND grill that serves up awesome and fresh seafood. It's ridiculously cheap also. Very close to the Port Hueneme Naval base.

Looks great. My favorite way to eat fish when mama not on a diet.

Thanks guys! To be honest I don't do much fried food either but with filets as nice as these I gave it a go.

Nice cook Sako!

Man does that ever look fantastic, like everything you cook! Love me some fish and chips, I'd better have some for lunch or supper now!

Thanks Chris! Just had some leftovers for lunch.

The slaw..doesn't look mayo based..if not what do you use? The fry looks outstanding!

I get tired of mayo based slaw sometimes so this recipe is salt, Aleppo pepper (a version of paprika coarse ground), fresh or dried dill, granulated garlic, oil (avocado in this case), freshly squeezed lemon juice. It compliments fish especially well.

I would happily hurt myself on that.

Was the breading basically flour and Slap Ya Mama?

Great meal there, Sako!

Thanks Greg! Just slap your mama and I had rinsed the fish right before so the moisture on the filets made the breading stick. No eggs, no batter, nothing.

Shoot everyone in the south has guns. Not just okies! But while okies can cook some good fish they still aren't as good at it as they are in Louisiana and other southern states. So I say honorary Southern Boy. :becky:

Edit...hopefully that doesn't offend the okies....but I grew up in Louisiana so I know good fried fish (and chicken!) and good cajun/Creole...

Thanks Lloyd! I've done it and how I do it when I make sweet potato fries. With regular potatoes I try to get as much starch out as possible, dry them, coat it with corn starch to make em crispy. If they sit long enough they still get soggy but the chips stayed crispy.
