I done did it. Finally.

No fancy round boules to be found out here in East Bumblefark, NM! Picked up a loaf of premade garlic bread from the grocery bakery, though. One simply can never have too much garlic.... I'm just sayin'. Cut it in half, as Momma is still planning to have dinner "on time."

I didn't fire up the smoker for this, but used my little toaster oven in the kitchen... but wow, is it ever a hit!

Jeanie, you are simply awesome.... and you inspire old schlubs like me to try new stuff on a regular basis.

Enough of this Interwebs stuff... I've gotta get some more of that bread!
CINCHOUSE and the munchkin are going to kill the loaf if I don't quit messin' around.

But, dayum... it sure tasted good.

I sure wasn't going for form.. but function.... and it was GOOD.

Should be common knowledge, but seriously pay more attention to the bit farthest from the center of whatever bread you use. Seriously... make it ALL good. Tried on this end but it could've used a bit more cheese and a bit more of that amazing hot bacon grease + butter + scallion + garlic combo that I drizzled all over the bread.

I can see that I am not the only one that can foul-up a copycat recipe, and while it may not look as good as the original, it still tastes pretty darned good and my pride forces me to finish it whether or not anyone else likes it. It did look like yours was a pretty big hit, so congrats on that, and remember, practice makes perfect.
