View Full Version : Briskets, Butts, and Loins - Lots of PRON

I'm new to the Sam's Club and have been slowly using their meats. This weekend I decided to go 100% with their brand for the first time and see how the cook turns out. Their prices are much more competitive than what I was use to paying at our local PUBLIX store. The Butts were Prime quality; the whole Loin didn't say but lookeed very nice; the briskets were Choice quality.

The briskets were first trimmed and then seasoned with Montreal steak seasoning. The Butts were seasoned with Butt Rub, and the Loin seasoned with Killer Hog-Hot. The fuel source was Royal Oak Lump and the smoke wood was mesquite and hickory.

The final results were excellent and my critics were silent as they shoved the goods down their gullets! Sam's passed the test with flying colors so they now have a new customer.

I love Sam's brisket. Butts look like good quality too but I haven't used them yet

Don't have much to compare to but Sam's is all I use.

Now that's my kind of cook! I tend to load my smoker even when cooking for myself. Not sure what it is but I enjoy it more than cooking one or two items.
