Firebox

Hi guys
Building a new smoker first build using a 80 gal tank
Wanting to know your thoughts on size of firebox. l know it should be 1/3 of tank
Right now I have it started 24x22 which is more then required. is this going to be to big a box or should I cut it down before I go any further on it .

I try to hit about 110% of the Feldon recommendation for firebox size. One other consideration is to make sure either the width or depth is +18 inches, most splits are 16" long so you want to make sure to accomodate split size.
