I haven't tried to make one yet, but I've been stocking up the freezer with them for spring. Anyone got a killer recipe?

Yeah... Bob Evans sausage, maybe some rub, maybe wrap in bacon, put on the smoker to 165, then remove. Best recipe I know!
If you're talking about what goes inside, that makes them armadillo eggs... and a search will give you more than you want to know. Typical is japs and cheese.
The real question here is why wait for spring???

Thanks! I'm not really waiting 'till spring, just some more spring like weather. My backyard has 4-6in of snow and today was the first day in about a week that the temp got over 12 or so.

bert,
I open a trench in mine, fill it with a stick of string cheese, chopped onions, chopped roasted red peppers, chopped chipotles in adobo, and chopped garlic. Seal the trench back up, roll it in that press-n-seal wrap, and twist the ends down really tight. Refrigerate it overnight, then throw it on the smoker.
