anyone have one , and if so what do they think of the quality and ease of use? The price seems ok at under $400.

Don't have one, but have used one. It's a decent entry level pit. I wouldn't hesitate to spend 400 on one. They do what they are designed to do, and that's a good amount of cook space for the money.

I only have a PB 820. I like it, have had it for over two years and use it year round. It heats up to 400ish in about 10 or 15 after closing it up. Smokes good in spite of me being a stronger smoke flavor person.
It is in decent shape even though the cover I have has blown off lots and it has been rained on plenty. Also, I got a grease fire on one end and the outside coating started peeling of in that spot. Good grill!
