View Full Version : Help! Weber recipes are confusing

Hi
Looking at a weber recipe for smoked braised beef chili
In the recipe they call for:
Indirect High Heat
Direct High Heat
Indirect Medium heat

I know how to set up the charcoal summit for direct or indirect

What is direct high heat and indirect medium heat?

Remove your shield, direct is meat over coals, then indirect put your shield in
High heat 450 to 550 f, medium 350 to 450 f, low 250 to 300 f

so all they are saying is I need to adjust the temp - that's pretty simple
On the summit I can easily do that

Yeah just like a stove...low, medium, high, medium-low, medium high.
