View Full Version : Time to make some Crockpot Smoked Brisket Chili

I don't cook a lot of Brisket but during my last biweekly trip to the Navy Base Commissary they had Choice Brisket on sale for $2.25 a pound so I picked one up and smoked it last Saturday.

Trimmed slathered with hot sauce and seasoned with kosher salt and coarse black pepper.

Put on the WSM at 265 and let the temp go up to 309, wrapped with BP at 5hrs in and pulled when probe tender.

Sliced with the grain instead of against (plate shot)

Heck yeah! I can barely make normal chili now ... normal meaning without smoked brisket as the star of the show.

Going to do that this weekend, now that it's finally cold enough. Saved a few pounds from the last one just for this purpose.
