Big easy SRG turkey question

I'm going to roast my first turkey in the car boil Big Easy SRG and was wondering do you leave the lid on during the cook or open it up during the cook. I've seen mixed reviews and would like to get someone's input?

Mine tells me to leave it off until about an hr before being done... I did that and the bird turned out perfect... I think from what I read it has a potential to brown to much if left on the whole time

Use the lid during the whole cook if it's really cold out or really windy. Otherwise just to crisp up the skin about an hour before done, as @TuscaloosaQ said
