This weekend was finally the weekend to pick up my cooker. Nothing crazy 24x42 cabinet with 3 rack warmer, insulated firebox, both dampers, removable sausage hangers, baffle blocker and Tyler fab'd me up an extra damper with a 3/4" threaded nipple welded on so I can screw on my guru when I want to cook in the warmer only and not have to worry about tending fire. Hands down the most versatile smoker I've come across. And when people tell you pictures don't do these cookers justice they couldn't be more right. The craftsmanship on this thing is unreal. Looks like it was welded by a robot. Paul was awesome to work with and communication was top notch. You get your money's worth with this cooker. Still on my way back home with it but I know for sure it was well worth the 1400 mile round trip.

After seeing Paul's (pjtexas1 that is) smoker at the Texas bash last Fall I knew why folks were raving about Shirley smokers. They are super well built pieces of art.

Looking forward to seeing some of your future cooks.

Seasoned the smoker for 6 hrs last night. I can't believe how easy is it to maintain temps in this thing. Played around with both dampers and the heat deflector plate in the warmer cabinet. With just a couple adjustments I can keep the main chamber right at 240 and vary my cabinet temp anywhere from 185-300 while the the main chamber is running a solid 240. Needless to say I'm impressed. It'll be nice to be able to cook meats at different temps. Throwing on a meatloaf tonight. (wife's request) but I have plenty of room for the customary first smoke fatty.

First cook going down tonight. The customary fatty and a meatloaf. The wife wanted meatloaf but I had to cook a fatty on the first run.

I need a Cabinet added to my MeadowCreek,,,, or sell that and get a Shirley....... Damn they look great....

That's why I chose Shirley. I love the cabinet over the firebox. When I don't have time to tend a fire I'll smoke in the warmer with my guru hooked up to the firebox using lump and chunks but it works great for a vertical with all wood as well. My wife's taste test will be the judge. But I'm sure it won't disappoint.

Man that cooker looks awesome. As does the food! I'm excited to cook on mine tomorrow for the first time in about 4 weeks :clap2:. Been doing too much running around on the weekends recently.
