I've got some hatch chilies that I roasted and wonder if anyone has ever used them on top of a pizza. I'm thinking some of my home made sausage with either rings or diced chilies on top.

I don't even like hot peppers and I'm wondering why you even asked. Peppers are a natural on pizza.

It never occurred to me but sounds like a great idea Norm.

Seems like a great idea, Norm. I had planned to a do a green chile/mexican chorizo pizza for the green chile TD, but wasn't able to enter in time. Still plan to do it in the near future, though.

Yup, great with spicy thick tomato based sauce, left over pulled pork, diced onion and green chiles, topped with shredded 4 cheese mexican blend.

Food is a blank canvas, experimenting is half the fun of the cook. The other half is enjoying what you created. If you and the family like it that's all that matters. Sounds good!

Maybe it's just me, but I think it pairs well with traditional Italian flavors. Maybe not the extra hot, but the chili flavor does in my opinion.

Well it was a hit for sure! I chopped them up and mixed in with the sausage. Only thing I'd do different next time is put more in but I only was able to find a few around here.

You guys are right the flavor really compliments the sausage. The sauce is from tomatoes out of the garden I'd made up earlier and frozen. I roast the tomatoes on the grill and run them through a food meal.

I'll have to come clean and confess there were only two slices left over and I'm eating those for breakfast.

Yep. I used some mediums on a pizza two weeks ago, skinless of course. Tomato sauce and pepperoni made it a simple but very tasty pie.
