Meat-a-palooza is this weekend, and the party has grown steadily to 6 families (including our own)-- and that means there are 12 adults and 18 kids. What was I thinking? :shock:

I've got a 16 pound packer brisket, 2 pork butts, 4 slabs of ribs, 8 chicken quarters, and several links of sausage.

Is that going to be enough? We will have a pan of baked beans, coleslaw, 2 pans of mac and cheese, and chips, too.

Thanks Errbody. I got a little nervous there for a second- but I'm feeling better about things.

Really excited to play with fire for the day and see what sorts of deliciousness ensues!

I will try and posts pics in a semi-live post if I can figure how to do on my phone.

Way more than enough. I just did 23 lbs of pork but for an office get together of 18 folks and had over 5 lbs left and all we had besides the pork was beans and tater salad.

Really depends on the age of the kids. Teenage boys can eat some food.

Fortunately no teenagers- -lots of small kids (oldest is 10, all the way down to just under 2).

on a slightly different topic- I am going to inject one of the butts with Smoke on Wheels pork injection/marinade. Am I ok to do that the night before, or should I wait until about an hour before I put on the smoker?
