Hello all,
I just had a large bag of cherry wood given to me today.
I usually use apple for most of my smoking but as I have never used cherry can you advise me what meats I should use the cherry for?

Have a great smoking weekend,

All I have is cherry, so I use it on everything. But any fruit wood and pork are a match made in heaven.

And hello from a few hours down the highway!

A wise man from here once said "any wood is good for smoking, as long as it's cherry" :thumb:

I used some cherry last night on a couple of burgers. They were awesome.

I love cherry wood with ribs.... adds some real good color to the finished product. I used to have a good supplier but combination of city ordinances and imminent domain killed that.

Same here. That's all I ever use. Everything comes out great.

I've smoked some butts with cherry and loved them. I live a stone's throw from a firewood yard and they have piles of cherry and apple. Life is good.

I too use mainly cherry for smoking, use white oak to get the coal bed going. One upside to having an ice storm last year is the cherry trees suffered the most, from broken tops to blown over trees. An inch of ice followed by 40 mph winds will do the damage. I have enough to last 2-3 years.
