GOAT IS GOOD!!! Never done a whole goat. Have done a leg of goat, huge 9# leg, hit it with some peppered cow and smoked at 235 for about 7 hours if I recall.

If you like lamb, you'll probably like goat. Neighbor kids tried it and liked it, of course we didn't tell them what it was until they were munching on their third piece. And then they still liked it. :thumb:

Whats it weigh in at?
Treat it like lamb, its just a bit sweeter IMHO.
Olive oil, salt and lemon is all it really needs if your cooking it direct

I just used my normal rub on mine when I have done them. Never a whole goat though. I think I did mine at 225-250.

This is something I'm interested in doing as well - what finish temp or texture is desired for goat? & is it different for different cuts of goat?
