I've been in the market for a Weber kettle to mostly cook wings on after seeing all the Vortex threads. I was about to pull the trigger on a new Performer when my stepson found this one. He bought it off of CL and doesn't know anything about it. I can't find anything on the web to tell me what it is either. I know there are guys here who will know exactly what this is.
It is a 22" kettle with aluminum side shelves and an ash catcher. The grate appears to have a gold color to it rather than silver. Top vent is in the center and has AD stamped on it. That's all I know.

AD= 2010. Enjoy the grill.
It's a One Touch Gold -
not sure of the nomenclature of your side tables etc.
I suspect you paid $100 + for the grill?
Worth it, grill on!

Nice score! I'm in the market for a weber kettle. Might start surfing CL since its grilling time! Haven't used charcoal since I brought the new smoker home. I've got quite a stash of charcoal LOL

oh no, I was WRONG, and referring to the Gold ash system -
After looking, they call it the one Touch Platinum,
it has the OTG Ash System, and the wings make it Platinum.
So you have a 2010 OTP. Nice score.

[Blazin, how many people do you cook for, because you cook a whole bunch?
Are you like me, who vac packs and freezes, or, are you Regular Army Cook, feeding hundreds at a time??? Enquiring minds want to know!

sorry for the hijack.

I paid $120 for it. My stepson paid much less but they have a new baby so I helped him out. The pics don't do it justice because it needs a little cleanup but this thing is like brand new. The dual side tables and the newness made it well worth the money to me.

And I bid 150...:biggrin1:
I love it...The hinged lid and the vent in the center of the lid are great ideas that they should make more available...

sorry for the hijack.

I just cook for the family. I tend to send over a little bit of this and that to my friends next door. I have a brand new cooker with plenty of room, Figured if I'm going to use pretty much the same amount of fuel, I should just add extra for left overs. I try to vac seal left overs, but it normally gets ate within the first 5 days after cooking.

but honestly, could of posted these questions in my cook thread from today :) A little off topic from cheez's post!

No idea. The hardware store down the street had some for a long time and it just wasn't moving probably even after they discounted them deep. IIRC retail was $249 or $299. At the time I had my performer so didn't have a need but I really liked it. The hinged lid was cool IMo.

Even popped up here on CL for $100 to $120 which I think is an awesome price for it but again no need at the time. All were barely used.

The lid is not hinged. It just has the cradle in the back instead of the side.
In the bottom pic you can see the two steel pegs that it cradles in. Although I have it halfway cradled properly because it is only resting on the right side. There is also a clip in the back that catches the edge of the lid. It is a 3 point cradle. Pretty secure actually.

I noticed that John. For whatever reason I thought it was hinged. It's been a while .:-D I remember it being sort of different.
