When we do a crawfish boil we've always like to cook vegetables along with the crawfish. Potatoes and corn are easy as the potatoes are already sold in boiling bags. The problem is the smaller items like garlic mushrooms brussels sprouts etc. In the old days we used old stockings but no one wears stockings anymore.
For the last few years I've use the boiling bag sold at Academy sports for three dollars or so but they are a pain to clean. Found these expandable mash boil bags on Amazon. They were originally made to cook single servings of shellfish for low country boils.
For a bag of 100 bags it's about $10. They are certainly cheaper know if to be disposable. They work great for mushrooms asparagus broccoli etc. They look small on expanded but I've even put whole chickens inside and been able to tie them off.
