One of my best friends has a model #2. He loves it and turns out some dang good food.

They look like an exact cook shack clone

I have the #3. I use it primarily in the winter when I don't want to deal with the cold. Or when I just want Q without the hassle. It works great, I recommend it. Expensive tho.

I have the #2, got it last year, upgraded to the 800w element, use it for all long cooks, works great, use the mojo bricks for good smoke, doesn't take much wood, 8oz tops.

Way cheaper than the Cook Shack alternative though :thumb:

Very true! Cheaper than my eggs too. Guess I was comparing to Wsm and such.

I have the smokin-it #2. Have had it for 4 years or so. I use it all year round and it's generally what I'll move anything too if I'm doing an all night cook.

i have a #3 rewired to run on auberins PID; i call it the neglectomatic. i can tell it to cook at 180 for 2 hours, then 237 until internal temp hits 203, then hold until i get home from work at 155 whenever that is.... NOT good for chicken or ribs (beef or pork); YES good for shoulders, chuck roast & brisket (big cuts). super tender, but the smoke flavor is that of a static electric cooker - very little air movement... bark is inferior, smoke flavor is inferior. pleases the masses but i am never happy. lately i've only used it as a glorified cambro. when BFC finally gets here (Thoey1963's former LSG vertical offset c warmer) i will be gifting it to a paduan chef/ good friend... part of the reaping of other cookers that is to happen when the big mother gets here... it was great when my kids were small and i couldn't really pay attention to the food.. but now they can entertain themselves and i will burn sticks & tinker with the art of the fire. i use my pellet with BBQubes when i have a big cut to do cook and want some sleep.
