One could always try to have your local Lowes price match that one(store #2587). I did that a few years ago when someone on here found a Lowes in Colorado that had the Stubbs listed for $1.09. I went into my local store and asked if they price match their own stores to which they said yes if not clearance. I show them the print out and after the look of shock they call the store. The other store tells them it's not clearance and they don't know why it's coming up at that price. To sum it up that day I walked away all 20 bags they had on the floor for about $23.

My Lowes has them at regular price. They do have the Kingsford twin pack with free lighter fluid on sale though.

Interesting, I went to Lowes.com and searched the Stubbs. My local store is regular price. I was able to confirm the OP's pricing by selecting his store. I then began to select the other area Lowes stores near me and found 1 that listed the Stubbs for $4.49. It's a bit of a drive so I'm going to see if I can get a price match.

My Lowes said they match the price of other Lowes within 45 miles. Picked up 15 bags of Stubb's for $4.49/bag. I'm happy!

It rang up full price at my local store. I showed them the OPs receipt and asked if they would price match. They said sure! I was told that they were clearing them out because the new bags are going down to 14lbs. Walked out with 7 bags @ $2.25. Thanks OP!

Well, I tried here in Highland, NY.
The $2.25 bag has the sku# from the yellow bags.
Nowadays all that is at my local store is the newer white bags (less lb too...).
So, different sky#, sorry can't match it...

I cant find stubbs anywhere around here for a decent price. It's all I used last year and I got it at walmart for $8 a bag. Now the only places that have it are $12 for 15lb bag. Lowes doesnt stock it at all anymore.

Any recommendations for another good natural charcoal that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

Welp, just checked Lowes again and it says they have 58 bags now... so All isn't lost. I guess they just hadn't put it on the shelves when I was in a week or so ago.

Thanks for the heads up. I've wanted to try Stubbs for a while. We had a very bad experience at Lowe's, several years ago. I vowed to never shop there again. I may have to break that vow, if I can get that deal. I just happen to be posting next to a Lowe's, maybe I'll wander inside and have a look.

Great deal at $2.25 a bag

Our Lowe's had it on Clearance for $4.95 last weekend, went today go get another load and it was back up to $9.98. Still the 15 pound bags, not the new 14 pound bags.

Asked if they'd match another store and no go.... Just happy for what I got last week.

So I bought a couple twin packs of Kingsford that was on sale just so it wasn't a wasted trip.

Talked to the lawn and Garden Manager at one of our local lowes and that particular brand was not on clearance yet but might be within the next couple weeks. It seems that depending on the area you live will dictate when it goes clearance. Seems that the lowes are slowly unloading that specific product for some reason so don't get discouraged if your store still has it at full price right now.

I suggest you "grill" or "BBQ" the management a little more on that product and stay vigil on the front end clearence area. Talk to upper Managemdent not the chubby girl at the register chewing on the hubba bubba.:blabla:

By the way, L and G manager was a Texan!!!! I think he's the only one we have here in Upstate NY.:laugh:... so he could understand and Identify with the barrage of questions I hit him with regarding BBQ fuel!!

I had to go pick up a few things and went to Lowes instead of the closer HD. Grabbed my things along with 1 baggs of stubbs. As he was ringing me up i asked do they price match and showed him Jsnows receipt. He said yes then i said i wanted more. I told him i wanted 25 he said he could only do 5 ( was thinkg wtf ) but figured ok , lets do it. If i have a local receipt it shld be a breeze. Out i walk with stuff and receipt in hand now on a mission LOLLL

Called a few stores and the wldnt price match, idk why.... Finally got a store and the guy said sure as long as i have a receipt. Website said they had 40 ,so off i go. Was in wifes SUV and figured i could lay down the 3rd row seat and get em in there with no prblm. I was to lazy to go get my truck lol. I get there and they have a whole pallet full YIPEEE... Pallet full of the 15lb and the new 14lb bags mixed in. I only found about 12 bags of the 15lb bags... Chit, so i said wth and i put some 14lb bags at the bottom and loaded the 15lb bags on top. 21 in total. ...
Now have 26 bags and may see if i can buy more !!
