Hey guys. Here's tonight's meal. Ended up having Chicken thighs & Mac&cheese. Made the mac and cheese a little extra cheesy! But that's fine. I like cheese!

Realized we had biscuits so I found a Bob Evans mild in the fridge rubbed it down with Oak Ridge dominator. So I already have breakfast worked out for the morning! Gonna be good!

Thanks Jeanie. It was pretty good! Haven't tried the Oak Ridge dominator rub on anything yet. Wonder If I can actually wait til breakfast to dig into it?!! Probably not. I've already had plans of taking a slice off of the fatty now lol.

Thanks everyone! I caved, I took a couple slices from the fatty. The Dominator rub works really well with this bob evans mild sausage! Can't wait to try it on ribs!

I should add that I cooked this without a water pan. The chicken was cooked roughly 45 mins. Dome temp was running 275 so I say without the water pan the grate was running 300+. Didn't run a grate thermometer this time. Real surprised how well it turned out. I feel the meat drippings hitting the fire actually gave it additional flavor.

Looks delish..

Must ask - I've always been a JD Hot guy for fatties, but that's sometimes hard to find up here in NE Indiana. Meanwhile, Bob Evans sausage chubs are nearly 2 x the price of JD! Is the quality/flavor/whatever worth the price? What am I missing?

Sorry for the hijack - Lord knows I'd destroy that plate... and more!

I haven't made many fatties. First time trying the bob evans brand. I like it. It was cheaper than Jimmy dean here. It was 2.98 vs Jimmy dean at 3.48

But honestly, If Jimmy Dean is cheaper I would stick with that. I like Jimmy Dean better.

wsm and the kettles just do chickens like no other. Blazin good job and I now know its chicken time with the glorious spring weather this weekend in cheeseland.

Spring and weber chicken aroma in the air is hard to beat in February,

I know what you mean! Only chicken I attempt to cook on the off-set is whole chickens. I don't care about the skin as much on whole chickens like I do separate pieces.

This is how I roll pretty much full time. I simply cannot cook a naked fattie and "save" it. We always eat at least half of it right after it comes off the smoker. If I need one for breakfast the next day then I cook two. :becky:
You will love the Dominator on ribs.

The Fatty didn't last long at all. I had 1/2 of it for breakfast! Just gonna have the fatty on toast with my hot pepper mustard.

Normally not so cheesy, But My favorite thing about it was the left overs. Once its warmed up again its great!

Chicken is always in supply here at home! Wish we could eat more steak and beef but everyone else is more into chicken!

I Noticed I never mentioned what rub I used on the chicken. I used the Oak Ridge Gamebird+Chicken rub! I like to apply it pretty heavy on chicken.

Looks good!. I did chicken thighs last night also with oakridge gamebird. First time using this rub and it was good. I did add half a jalapeno slice under the skin on each thigh for a little extra heat. Was in a rush and forgot pics.

I really enjoy gamebird! Do you apply a heavy coat of it?

Yes, it was fairly heavy. I also put some under the skin with the jalapeno.
