So I found a 4 pack of magnetic shelves and a magnetic glove holder on Amazon. This should help organize all my s<&# during cooks. Not sure that this is how they will end up once I get everything going but seems like this will make things much more organized.

The magnets hold the shelves out about 1/4" from the body of the cooker so no issues with heat I think. I will take some more pics this weekend when it's fired up.

They sell those at harbour freight and they hold up and don't get hot. They also sell a paper towel holder.

I try to limit myself as much as possible with HF. End up buying to many do-dads. Just bought 6 boxes of gloves last month when they were on sale.

I thought about getting the towel holder but we hang ours from the EZ-up with a bungee at comps. At home I usually have plenty of hand towels so not sure I need it. I do want it though, just trying to limit all my wants...

I bought the magnetic towel holder and its more hassle than its worth. Magnets not strong enough IMO.

Looking good, how strong do they feel?

Not sure but I have heard that they will scratch the dickens out of your cooker. Might want to try putting some duct tape on the magnets to help with this.

the trays have strong magnets, well strong enough to hold mavericks etc. i cannot speak for the glove holder. i know the paper towel holder's magnet is not strong enough as i can't just rip a paper towel off.

the ones i bought at HB have rubber coated magnets.

I have both the glove holder and the paper towel holder, never any issues with strength. The one thing I did notice was that the magnets would leave little residue marks (or something) on the smoker, you could always tell where they were placed, and it wouldn't wipe out with a cleaner.

Yeah that was a concern of mine with marks on the finish. I keep mine sparkly new looking. One thing I considered was looking at basic shelves and doing my own magnets that I could cover with something. I found a site kjmagnetic.com that has gazillions of ultra strong magnet options.

The ones from HF are great. I bought two, as well as a paper towel holder for my trailer. you're right though, that place is dangerous.

I've been wanting a shelf on my cabinets since I got them. Im thinking about the weight limitations of the magnetic shelves however. Would it be that big a deal to drill into the frame and secure a "real" shelf that could support the he weight of a couple butts?

I don't know that answer but the shelves you got are certainly a good solution for smaller items.
