The wife and stepdaughter went shopping saturday so I decided to light up the stick burner. I got a 5.5lb rack or pork from Costco (never cooked one before). Seasoned with some butt rub and then a little HEB memphis bbq sauce right before pulling off. Cooked 225-250 for about 3 hours until IT hit 140.

I think I will have to try this again. Thanks for looking.

I've never heard of a rack of pork. Is it basically ribs with way more meat?

Daninnewjersey:

I'm not 100% sure but I think it is a pork loin with bones attached.

Now that looks great. I've been looking for something new and this fits the bill if I can find one. Thanks.

What would the pork equivalent of a prime rib be? That looks yummy and now I need to try it but I have never seen that cut, I guess I'll have to look now.

There's an HEB in Baton Rouge?

I wish we had an exact # for this cut.
I am feeling it is more towards the front,
and the ribs untouched??

Looks like a winner.

No, I have a daughter and some friends in Houston, so I am there 4-5 times a year. Also have a daughter in Austin.
