Just bought Boston butt and some spareribs on sale. Since I'm not going to use it right now I'm wondering how long they can stay in the freezer before turning bad?

Here's a link

However if you get a vacuum sealer (food saver) you can extend these to years.

Her's another link

I've had them in their own cryovac for four months in the freezer, no problem.

I've had meat good for almost a year. It really never goes bad, but just loses its quality over time.

If they are cyro-sealed you can get over a year.

If not the standard is 3-6 months before freezer burn starts to degrade the outer layer of the meat.

If you vac-seal, I've lost stuff in the freezer for two years and it was still good with no freezer burn, or loss of quality.
