Where would we be without them? Seems like every timer we have either breaks or disappears into the void. Wife always just grabs a cheapo thing from Wally world. I just bought a ThermoWorks TimeStickTrio. Got it yesterday. What a neat contraption.

This is something I would really like to try, baking bread. It is on "the list"...after sausage making. I have a grinder and a Grizzly (?) Stuffer. Have had it since last winter, just haven't gotten to it yet.
So far our experience with baking bread is just a bread machine, a few batches of King Arthur hamburger buns and then of course my wife's favorite, banana nut bread...

Here is a great recipe for baguettes that seems complex but is very detailed so it's hard to mess up. Makes very crusty crust and tender crumb.

I started baking bread a few years ago. Lots of fun and the kids love it.
As far as gadgets, the baking steel (http://www.bakingsteel.com/) is awesome. I use it for breads and pizza. Last weekend I did some pizza on the Hasty Bake using the baking steel - turned out awesome.
I'm going to start using my new Blackstone Outdoor Patio Oven gadget (pizza oven) to start making bread outside...
Trying to minimize the indoor cooking when the weather is good...
