With the kids home from college for the weekend, wanted to get some good home cooking in them before sending them back. I also wanted to break in the new 36" Blackstone.

I asked the kids what they wanted....pulled pork and homemade potato chips. So, the Blackstone had to wait.

We had a great time. We were getting close to time to eat, and I was finishing up the potato chips outside. I came in and my wife had started to pull the pork and I was thinking the batch was a little thin on the bark. They were picking it off and eating it while I was frying the chips.

The family went to the movies in the afternoon while I babysat the butt, so I did this (sorry for the crappy iPhone pictures)...

Blackstone griddle, assembled and ready for washing and conditioning...

After washing, drying and a few cycles of heating and cooling with a thin coat of peanut oil, I fried up some onion.

My new griddle, seasoned and ready to go. I think I'm doing green chile cheeseburgers tomorrow night.

That's a great day right there. My kids also get to pick the menu when they come home. Makes a parent happy to provide for their children.

I wonder if you could do potato chips on the Blackstone? Slice thin and use a lot of oil on super hot griddle........

Once you show the kids what good cooking tastes like, ramen noodles just don't cut it anymore! Good parenting.
