Does one burn hotter than the other in a gas grill application?
Best I remember, you have to have a higher volume of Natural gas to produce the same BTU's as with propane. The right regulator and burner orifices should allow you to reach same temps at grate level.

Using the same grill propane will burn much hotter. You should replace the orifice in the grill to a smaller one for propane if it was originally set up for natural gas.

I converted a grill from LP->NG. I had to take the valves out and drill them until I got a clean blue flame. It isn't that hard, but remember you can't undrill a hole..

I used to do that with carburetor jets.
To undo it, solder the hole and drill the original size hole.....reversed!
