View Full Version : Humphreys Pint arrived!!!

Just sharing the initial burn in process and temp scale from yesterday.

So I have the T-maze in my charcoal pan, used about a third of a chimney of hot coals and wanted to run up the seasoning temps but monitor the progress.

Had about a half pan of warm water in it, ball valve wide open, stack wide open, stack gate about 80% open inside the chamber.

Hit 250 within 30 minutes, at 1.5 hours it was at 375 and at two hours, approaching 500. Very efficient speeds and climb. As most insulated cookers go, it took a while to get it back down, however playing with adding more water , cranking down the ball valve and reducing the stack, no problems. I had rubbed it down with Manteca to season so I wanted to purposely run it up hot and see how she did.

Absolutely love this thing. Going to set it up today and try to catch the temp on the way up and figure where the 250-275 spot is manually, before adding on my CyberQ. Today is meat day, the baptism of the cooker with a little briskie flat.

Yeah Pat, probably about 5 feet tall. I think it weighs about 300lbs. I plan to use moving blankets and tip load it with a friend to get it to comps. Easy to handle but she stands a little taller since the good people at Humphreys added custom angled legs and 8 inch tires.

350 lbs.

Did a cordon bleu fatty last night, cruised perfect. This morning, I will give it the first big meat challenge. Got a packer I am trimming up to test out. This is one solid cooker, very very happy with it so far.

Congrats. You're going to love it. I may have to order a few of those round bar racks. They look like a piece of cake to clean.

They are certainly easier to clean than expanded metal. Extremely well built. Cleanup last night wasn't much more than a swipe and call er good.
