Does anyone know what this Oklahoma Joe would be worth. Says it's 1/4" thick steel and one of the originals but I haven't seen it yet.

That beast looks heavy!

Also looks like a good solid unit.

That does look like an original OK Joe pit. There were no cheap clones of that model.

A new 20" Horizon Ranger is $1925 and the 16" version is $1585. That one also has the optional propane log lighter. That's all the help I can offer. It will all come down to the general condition and what you're willing to pay.

So David Klose is a bad builder for putting a maze in his pits?

I saw that. It just says to me that he's tired of feed'n a stick burner and really wants a "set and forget it" pit. Poor guy probably has a job or something that prohibits him from good ole BBQ'n enjoyment...

30% OF retail.. or 30% OFF retail - there's about a 40% spread between the two and I want to make sure I understand you.

If retail was 12 I'd start at 4 if it's in great shape. Maybe more as it is 1/4" steel. While it can be done it takes a deliberate consistent amount of abuse to ruin steel. Are doors and lids tight? Latches work? Any accessories?? Steel can be taken down with an angle grinder and stiff brushes. Then repainted with Hi a Temp spray paint. Excellent Thermometers are easily obtained. Will they deliver?

1/3 of original retail price is just a starting point. Flexible to go up if it's something I really want.

Big question is it what you want?? If you've been jonesing for this cooker and it's in great shape Id pay more. These a

Maybe it's me, but I think the $700 range is fair. If you can get it for $400, then great! When I'm selling anything and it's been taken care of, which that unit looks fairly kept, and someone comes to my house and low-balls me, I get a little perturbed and just tell him to take a hike and come back when he's serious. Personally, I'd rather let it sit there or give it to a friend, than take it up the rear end and get pennies on the dollar. If you're really interested, then give him a serious offer and do it up. You're still making out good.
