Do you have a URL for the Get Your Grill On website?

When I search for it in Google I get all kinds of other sites -

When I go to getyourgrillon.com I arrive at a manufacturer's web site that has a few recipes, but no 'columns' I can find.

Thanks for the heads up and congratulations to the writers among us!

Yup, we're going to have a bunch of brethren writing for Get Your Grill On (http://getyourgrillon.net). The url is http://getyourgrillon.net. (http://getyourgrillon.net/)

The Brethren Writers so far are (in no particular order)

lazybonesmoke1 ; BBQchef33 ; backyardchef ; HoDeDo ; thillin ; Wine & Swine ; MrSmoker ; Bigmista ; Plowboy ; cmcadams ; YankeeBBQ ; Bossmanbbq ; and ApronGuy (Let me know if I missed anyone!)

I'll be adding their bios and you'll be seeing articles from all of them starting in the next couple of days. oh - I didn't tell you, I'm the editor.

I've just got a writing commitment from a famous chef too, but he's a surprise for later.

Get Your Grill On (http://getyourgrillon.net/) will focus primarily on live fire cooking from the backyard to the competition to the campfire to the barbeque to the gas grill, we’ll cover it all. We’ll talk about equipment, recipes, methods, terminology and techniques. We’ll visit all sorts of cooking contests, often reporting from inside both the judges and cook’s tents. We’ll cover the amateur and the professional cook. We may even sneak in some Chili cook-offs when no one’s looking. We want to cover grilling, bbq, cowboy cooking, food vending - anytpe and all types of outdoor and live fire cooking.

Get Your Grill On (http://getyourgrillon.net/) is part of the Well Fed (http://wellfed.net/) network of food bloggers. Which also includes The Cook's Kitchen (http://thecookskitchen.net/) which is edited by our fellow brethren, Matt aka BackyardChef. The Cook's Kitchen (http://thecookskitchen.net/) will be focused on cooking tools and ingredients to buy, whether you need them, and where to find them. Matt can explain it better than I, but that's a brief glimpse. I'll be doing some writing there as well.

So fellow Brethren, it looks like you guys are in on at the birth of something big. If you are interested in joing us, send me or Matt a PM and we'll give you the low down.

To my stable of writers, expect an e-mail from me tomorrow morning. Time to get moving!

Thanks, Rob. If anyone is interested in writing for the Cook's Kitchen (http://thecookskitchen.net) please let me know via pm or email-- I can always use more help. You can send reviews of products (bbq or not)-- your favorite knives, coffee grinder/machine (RonL?), ingredient sources, rubs, etc....Techiniques, tips, recipes....you name it.

Of course, anyone that is related to the Brethren that gets involved will help to promote this site as well-- I'll make sure that it gets mentioned and promoted.

I see my reputation precedes me :-D

I noticed that there is a coffee and tea related blog already link from the Cook's Kitchen site, but I wasn't impressed with the content. Product reviews are hard to do without access to products. I could review my grinders and coffee and espresso equipment, but a lot of it was purchased used or a while ago, and may not reflect the current equipment. Unless you have contacts with coffee-related manufacturers who are willing to provide samples for review, another approach may be a better fit.

How about a series of articles (once a month, perhaps) that talk about improving the quality of you coffee? The first installment could cover coffee basics, followed by an installment on the importance of a good grinder, then an installment on brewed coffee and the different methods, and then an installment on making espresso at home. Finally, we could do an installment on home roasting (some of these may have to be split into a couple of segments). After that, if there is still interest, we could look at newer products and toys introduced and explore different coffees and coffee blends.

Whatdya think? Guys? Would these articles interest you?

It is good to see someone stand up for what they believe in and can wright about it for all to see. I for one am not a great teacher as, If I see something going south I will just correct it and move on, I have a hard time explaining why I did what I did to fix the problem to make sence to the student. Do you get my drift??

You didn't ruin anything Ron. No need to apologize. The publisher launched the site a bit premarturely, that's all.

Nevertheless, pretty impressive, ever-evolving site and initial group of contributors/editor. Good luck to all involved so far and best regards,
gotta go look up premarturely in the interim......

Ron... It would not interest me personally as I do not drink coffee and never understood why people are so enamored with hot water with coffee bean flavor , but based on the crazed people I see lined up at Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts every morning it sounds like your format would be appealing to many..

Your note above sounds like you have a lot to share... Go for it !!!!....

Ron, I'm sure that if you emailed the editor, you could have your very own column on there, and I think all of the above topics would be good for coffee. One of the great side uses of my thermapen is to check for my water to be 197!

I would be more than happy to have Ron contribute to the Cook's Kitchen (http://thecookskitchen.net). The more the better.
