It's not often I see backstrap for sale in the places I haunt but when I see it I snap it up.
Used half of one in this dish, so I am excited that I know how unbelievably tender it is and I have some more to cook!
This was a simple marinate in a light soy and garlic preparation. While that happened I prepped onions into wedges and chopped Asian greens called Choy Sum, and whisked together the Chinese BBQ sauce mixture called Zsa Zsa sauce.
Heat the wok until it smokes and fry off the beef for a minute, then fry the onions and add back the beef with greens, coat with sauce and serve.

Look great. What is Zsa Zsa sauce? Googled it, and got this thread and a bunch of pizza sauces

Sorry, I have no idea.

That is phonetic, the recipe is in Chinese so I just translated the sounds. Probably wrongly!

I'll see if I can figure it out doing some searches.
Basically it is a Chinese style BBQ sauce tho

Looks excellent Buccs! You need to put out a cookbook. I'd be first in line to buy!

I believe that the backstrap is the equivalent of tenderloin.

That sauce looks amazing....we would love to have the recipe!

Thanks,
Randy

I love food of all kinds and from all over the globe. But, there will always be a special place in my heart for Asian inspired dishes.

THAT right there is a knockout as far as I'm concerned. Makes me wanna go whip up some shrimp in lobster sauce.

To make the sauce you would need to be able to get Amanska.
Other ingredients are star anise, cinnamon, dried shrimp(tiny) and prawn heads, dried scallops and oysters, and fermented chili soy bean paste.
The other ingredients are easily found
