I would like to say, I hate all of you Blackstone Griddle owners. LOL. I want one so bad and every time I look at Qtalk there is a griddle thread. The only thing holding me back is I would have to store it outside and I am afraid the top would get ruined.

You are looking at it all wrong!!!! This is a good reason to build a shed or a BBQ shed with an extended overhang for open air cooking...

Don't hate. Appreciate. :becky:

It has exactly been 3 years and mine has been sitting outside since day one. Put a cover on it and keep the griddle top oiled, oil the bottom of the griddle top once a year and you're good to go. If you're overly worried, take off the griddle top and buy the cover for it and store inside.

3 years old and not a speck of rust on it

I haven't had mine long but it sits out in the weather.
Thanks to ssv's (Sako's) suggestion, I place two large foil pans (inverted) over the griddle before covering. It's working out great!

Outside here too. I use a ceramic flower pot in the center of griddle, then a water proof cover followed by the very nice Blackstone cover. It's loose, air circulates. I heat, wipe off griddle with a paper towel and cook with bacon, lard, canola spray, coconut whatever. After The cook I wipe down with a paper towel and re-oil with Spray Pam Coconut or whatever is handy while griddle is hot. The glass vase keeps the covers 100% off the cooking surface. I'm guessing I've had mine 5-6 weeks??? We've used the stove top in the house twice.

I've not sprayed the underside. Might if I get un-lazy. I paid like 149 for this unit free shipping + tax. If I get 60 months It will have paid for itself exponentially

Also

It folds flat in a minute or two. There is even a travel case that can be purchased.
