Hey everyone! went to the store this morning hoping to get a few chuck roasts to smoke, with a couple whole chickens! The only thing i could get beef wise was English roast! how does this smoke? how do you cook it? What kind of cut is it? Never heard of an english roast before til today. Chuck roasts I've been cooking to 195F and letting it rest wrapped up!

Mr. Google tells me that it is part of the chuck primal...

I would cook it the same as a chuck.

Awesome thanks. I did a few quick searches didn't find what I wanted. trying to get the smoker fired up. Doing a lot of stuff in between!

In my experience, an English roast is VERY lean and will be dry if over cooked.

Kinda like cooking a strip steak to 195.

That's what the local meat man said, it was a leaner cut than chuck roast. I was a little worried about over cooking it! I'll just wing it. I have 4 of them. I'll pull 2 off early and cook the other 2 like i would chuck roast.
